Plants have been a popular decorative item for centuries, and for good reason. Not only do they add a touch of green to your living space, but they also purify the air and boost your mood. If you're looking to incorporate more plants into your home décor, you've come to the right place.
In this newsletter, we'll give you tips and tricks on how to style plants into your home décor in an effortless and beautiful way.

Start with a plan
Before you start buying plants, it's important to have a plan in place. Decide on what type of plants you want and how many you can accommodate in your space. Consider the amount of natural light each room gets, as well as the temperature and humidity levels. You don't want to buy plants that won't thrive in your home.
Mix and match
Plants come in all shapes, sizes, and colors, so feel free to mix and match different varieties. Experiment with different textures and leaf patterns to create interest. You can also play with the pots and containers you put your plants in. Try using vintage vases, baskets, or even hang them from the ceiling. The possibilities are endless.
If you have been following my newsletter for a while, you have probably seen this picture, but it’s one of my favorite plant displays I’ve made. I love how the shape and texture of each plant is different and how the roots are visible in the containers. This is exactly the type of mix-and-matching I’m talking about. You can play around with different plants to see what you like.
Group plants together
Grouping plants together is a great way to create a statement in a room. You can arrange them on a windowsill, bookshelf, or floor. Not only does this add visual interest, but it also makes a significant impact in a room. Try pairing a large plant on the floor with a trailing plant on a shelf above it, or group a few smaller plants around a large statement plant.
Create a plant shelf
Creating a plant shelf can be a great way to add plants to your room without feeling overwhelmed. It keeps all the plants in one small area and can make caring for them much easier. Putting a shelf near a window that gets bright indirect light will allow many types of plants to thrive with the least amount of care possible.
Here is a picture of my plant shelf. It is right next to a large window but never receives direct light. All the plants have been growing like crazy, and it makes watering very quick and easy.
Use plants to anchor a space
Plants can be used to anchor a space and define different areas in an open-concept room. Use large plants to create a sense of division between the living room and dining room, or between the bedroom and workspace.
Only grow what you can handle
Make sure to bring a reasonable amount of plants into your home. They may look great and add a calming feel to your home, but nothing looks worse than a bunch of dying plants in a room. It will look much nicer if you have a small number of healthy plants than a large number of struggling plants. This leads me to my final point…
Don't be afraid of artificial plants
If you're not confident in your green thumb, consider using artificial plants. Not only are they low-maintenance, but they also come in a wide variety of styles and colors. Plus, you won't have to worry about watering them or dealing with pests. You can easily add a few fake plants to your collection to add a more full and lush look without adding to the work required to keep your collection happy and healthy.
Fake plants are especially useful for those super dark areas in your home, like a bathroom with no windows. There are a few plants that do okay in low light, but none of them will survive with NO light.
Final Notes
In conclusion, incorporating plants into your home décor is a simple and effective way to bring life and color into your living space. Whether you have a green thumb or not, there's a plant that's right for you. Follow these tips and get creative to style plants into your home décor in a way that's unique to you.
